Usually it is done at arm's length.
Still doesn't hide the fat though.
The pose is ubiquitous these days though.

For me though it de-accentuates a a strong jaw line.

Good for big noses, like mine.
Good also are hats for the fiveheads, or sixheads like mine.
Only that in it's pervasiveness, it becomes old.
Tiresome.
Really like reviewing the same picture over and over.
