Some of my favorite reads of the past week:
- The potential showdown at the Democratic Convention is grippingly envisioned by a former West Wing (a show I never watched) writer in New York magazine's Four Days in Denver.
- Also in New York, is a listing of books seminal to the city in the past 40 years. The one's I haven't already read are now pretty much my summer reading list.
- As somebody that frequently introduces himself to people only to hear "we've met before, a few times", this David Brooks piece in the Times was comforting.
- Dick Cavett was a talk show host back when guests would come on and actually talk. Earlier this year he started blogging for the Times. There's a folksy-yet-accurate quality to him that appeals to me.
