Number thirty-five in a series.
Learn more about Xavier and hear his music and buy his album or just stare at his prettiness, all at his website.

Taking some time
in a land where
broadcasting oneself
is unseemly.
I have a house-sitter
so Sybil will
be cared for
and entertained.
This note
is to quell
rumors of my death.
And cat-burglars.

By now, you've heard that former Project Runway contestant Kenley Collins was charged with assault after hurling a laptop, two apples and a cat in the direction of boyfriend Zak Penley. Having been on the "teevee", most folks know much of the edited version of Collins as presented by Heidi Klum and her minions. Having gone on from Project Runway, Collins has apparently created little press since.
As for Penley, there is a piece of information that is important to the case. According to an exclusive source with whom I've met and slept, a friend of a former roommate of the boyfriend of the young designer: "Kenley was cool. Zak was kind of a pussy."

Number thirty-four in a series.
Check out Escandalo's video and listen to remixes for La Bruja. You can see Desi in the Monster-y flesh at (admittedly my favorite club night) Vandam, Sundays at Greenhouse.

The piece I had written for Radar back in September about "gaybies"? It no longer exists!
As such, it's repeated here (post-jump) just to archive its existence. (Actually, this is as it was originally written. There was some editing done that sort of changed my 'voice' a bit, though not in a bad way, just more "Radar", less "Rod".)
A side note: Less than a month after "Children of Men" posted, Aiken came out of the closet in the way that millions do - on a People magazine cover.

Jon Stewart, of whom I whole-heartedly approve, has some family connections to this Fabulous Depression (not to be confused by that middling Great one). His brother, Larry Leibowitz (not as cute and kept the family name), is a bigwig at the New York Stock Exchange. Further? Said brother testified to Congress against SEC regulation in 2004.
FULL DISCLOSURE and Rod Trivia 1: I temped for two weeks at NYSE in the 1990's in the regulatory affairs department!
FULL DISCLOSURE and Rod Trivia 2: I'm an only child, so whether you're supposed to disclose your family connections to a story you are "fake news" covering or not is beyond me.
