MobileMe, almost three months old, is still buggy and problematic

Congrats on your new iPhone! Too bad MobileMe hasn't worked properly since it's inception.

I've just lost a 300 word message.

Granted it was about a dream I had and my plans for the weekend, but at 60 words per minute, that is five minutes of my life.  I'll be invoicing Apple for the full hour.

What you will see if you are trying to check you .mac (or .me) account at this moment:

Your clever new account name for your @me.com address is going to get spammed.

Another change coming up for Mac users.  Your ".mac" account is going to become a "me" account.  For example, rodtownsend AT mac.com will now also be rodtownsend AT me.com  The (pedantic) URL does open up some possibilities.  Mac instructs:

With MobileMe Mail, you can create an email address that’s personal and easy to remember. Maybe it’s yourname@me.com or maybe it’s something clever. Whatever you think up, it will be your best email address yet.

Is "MobileMe" the worst logo in the history of Mac?

The MobileMe logo:
- Looks like a poor cousin of the Intel logo.
- Looks like it should have special pricing for a Wal-Mart "Rainy Day Sale".
- Makes me think of tampons maxi-pads.
- Could be a Shmoo, about to hug you but unable, as it has been blinded. 
- Uses bi-tonal blues that look nonrelative to me.
- Looks like something Cindy McCain would hang in a child's nursery.
- Is a cloud, which is more toilet paper-y than computer-y.
- Is a cloud, which brings rain and lightning and which obscures the sun.
- Is probably something White People will like.
- Is androgynous.
- Needs to cut down on the carbs.
- Uses a script "me" in a flirty kind of way, like how Cosmo claims to be flirty, but is actually whore-y.
- Looks like it probably has a theme song by The Postal Service.

UPDATE:  Yes, it should be Apple and not Mac.  Outside of the Apple purist niche community, these terms are interchangeable.

Or is it just me?  It's becoming a multiple-times-per-day thing.

It's always nice to get an email from G.  We're 'casually dating', although we haven't seen each other in a long while and, for whatever reason, haven't even kissed.  We have watched Gossip Girl on his 60" plasma from his London Terrace bachelor pad, so that must mean something.  G's emails are always light and flirtatious.  Or tech-oriented.

Today I warned him not to update his iPhone as it will destroy his TMobile hack.  He replied noting that he placed an order today for the MacBook Air. 

This concerns me.  (Scary Sadshaw modulator ON)  Can I really date/diddle/cuddle with someone that would buy a first generation Mac product?

Getting a bone for the iPhone

Announced this morning, Apple is finally producing an integrated phone and iPod:  the iPhone.

Never mind that the 8 gig model will be $600, surely one of my bad habits can be curtailed for six months, thus saving the money needed for purchase.
