Obiter Dictum - Almost a year after quitting, I've fully become the kind of self-righteous ex-smoker that every smoker hates.

In response to New York City to Try Ban on Smoking in Parks & Beaches:

Still smoking at this point is like still being a Republican at this point; you do it out of spite and willful ignorance.

So, like, proposing "child-free" areas in public parks would probably get the mommy-squads all pissy, right?

Look, TypePad, these ideas are cute and all, but seriously? If folks need to resort to listicles, then maybe they should get out of the game.

Except for numbers eight and ten, this is pretty much a listing of why most blog posts suck ass these days.  The punk vibe of "blog" has become obsequious to MSM and "big blogs" in the desperate yearning for "approval".  (Listen up Generation Y:  At the end of the day there will not be a "participation medal" awarded.  Meanwhile, the squelching of unheard voices and unknown stories has permeated the blogosphere much as it had the mainstream before it (and at an alarming rate). Sigh.

So suddenly I'm googling "I didn't need to see that" which for some reason I thought was from Robocop, but is actually from "The Comeback" and Valerie Cherish, but it's all related to me wanting to thank friends for a nice dinner last night. Sigh.
