So basically some dudes were hanging around the hookah and talking about how they'd totally bomb some subways or those douches on Metro-North. And how they'd totally tap that hottie if she wasn't such an infidel. The FBI heard it and is reporting "there is nothing concrete to suggest the plot went beyond the talking stage." For either bombing or the booty.

Here's a summary from nypost.com:
Osama bin Laden tried to buy a massive amount of cocaine, spike it with poison and sell it in the United States, hoping to kill thousands of Americans one year after the 9/11 attacks, The Post has learned.
Sources said the feds were told that bin Laden personally met with leaders of a Colombian drug cartel.
The drug lords turned him down, as it would be bad for business in the long term. But it would probably wipe out more of Manhattan than any random subway bomb. I would have, maybe two friends left alive. And they're not much fun anyway.

My assistant just told me of her shock that there will be package checks now on subway platforms. Granted, she should be working on that crucial "getting a better price for Pelligrino for the office refrigerator" project, but she is right. This is a logistical nightmare in the works. And can you imagine the other stuff that they will find while looking for these bombs? (Personally, I'm going to be getting clothes with more pockets.)
It is only fair that the police will be checking our packages though. I've been checking theirs for years.

As I was sitting on a rather empty subway car on the way to the slave-wagery this morning, I was reviewing in my mind: "Okay, who's in London and would have been awake and commuting this morning." My answer came swiftly: "No one you know would be on the way to work at 8:50 a.m. You're the wage slave in your little peer group."
Later in the day I received this e-mail from one Mr. Viva:
Thanks to those who called/emailed/texted - for those who did not, I am going to scratch your eyes out when I get back to NY! Anyway, what a day...I am jinxed...I arrived in New York two weeks before 9/11 and I was fast asleep in the morning when the incident took place just before 9'o'clock.Four years later, I arrived two weeks ago in London, and was fast asleep when the incident took place just before 9'o'clock. I don't think you want to follow me around.
It's good to be right!
